DESCRIPTION:Event Details\n\nLAS MUJERONAS – A FLAMENCO SHOWCASE\nJhoely Triana\n\nABOUT THE SHOW\nLas Mujeronas [loss moo-hair-OWN-us] is a powerful\, trailblazing work that celebrates fierce and confident women navigating struggles\, rebuilding their lives\, and reclaiming their voices\, identities\, dreams\, and passions. The piece blends flamenco dance\, poetry\, singing\, and storytelling to create a vibrant\, emotional experience.\n\nThe performance culminates in a lively\, interactive rumba flamenca\, where the audience is invited to join in a follow-the-leader-style song and community dance party.\n\n\nArtistic Director/Choreographer: Johely Triana\nSinger: Maria Avila\nGuitarist and Composer: Peter Mole\nPercussionist: Davide Sampaolo\nDancers: Rosa Celis\, Marcela Lopez\, Desiree Carlson Sanroman\, Luiza Libardi\, and Jessica Oryall.  All of these dancers have completed the Professional Development Program from Flamenco Rosario \n\n  \nABOUT THE ARTISTS\nJhoely Triana is a Colombian-born flamenco dancer and choreographer based in Vancouver. With a diverse dance background\, Jhoely trained at the Goh Ballet Academy\, earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Contemporary Dance from Simon Fraser University\, and honed her flamenco skills at Al Mozaico Flamenco and Flamenco Rosario. \nHer work has been showcased at renowned events such as the Victoria Flamenco Festival\, Vancouver International Flamenco Festival\, Vines Festival\, New Works Dance\, and the Vancouver Fringe Festival\, among others.
