SUMMARY:Book Reading: JJ Lee | Jennifer Pownall | Lynn Easton
DESCRIPTION:‘Tis the season to grab a hot chocolate and cookies and settle in for a long winter’s night of cozy holiday stories – with a bit of a twist. \nAuthor and editor JJ Lee\, a former CBC Radio journalist\, will bring his energetic and irreverent holiday cheer to Port Coquitlam’s Western Sky Books on Thursday\, December 4th for a free evening of holiday readings from his latest Tidewater Press Christmas anthology\, Better This Year. \nLee\, an RBC Taylor Prize finalist for his book Measure of a Man\, will be joined by a small sleighful of other Better This Year contributors including Port Coquitlam writer Jennifer Pownall and local Words in the Burbs reading series host Lynn Easton. \nThis humorous and heartfelt anthology celebrates stories of resilience in the face of less-than-perfect Christmas adversity and is the third in Lee’s series of refreshingly honest books about the season. The trilogy also includes Better Next Year and Upon a Midnight Clear\, all published by New Westminster’s Tidewater Press. \nThe free event begins at 7pm on December 4th and is generously hosted by Western Sky Books at 2850 Shaughnessy St\, Unit 2132\, Port Coquitlam.
