Grab your picnic basket and enjoy a free professional concert in the park! \nThe Evergreen Cultural Centre Society is supported by Port Coquitlam Community Foundation Theatre Society Legacy Fund. \n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \nABOUT THE ARTISTS \n\n“She’s a songwriter of haunting melodies which skate just to the romantic side of edgy\, on which sit direct\, socially resonant lyrics\, and under which pulses deeply soulful playing.” \nVancouver’s Clara Shandler performs under the moniker Sidewalk Cellist. She’s performed on three continents\, her music has been featured in films and has been performed by small ensembles and orchestras\, she’s collaborated with dancers\, poets and theatre productions to create memorable experiences\, and has released her fourth full-length album in September 2024. \nClara is a dedicated educator\, committed to making music lessons fun by tailoring lessons to fit each individual student. She currently teaches cello\, piano\, and composition at the East Vancouver Community Music School and online through Music Arts School in Cambodia. \nClara identifies as bi-sexual\, pansexual\, queer\, and as an advocate for human rights\, peace and environmental protection.

Grab your picnic basket and enjoy a free professional concert in the park! \nThe Evergreen Cultural Centre Society is supported by Port Coquitlam Community Foundation Theatre Society Legacy Fund. \n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \nABOUT THE ARTISTS \n\nKelsi James (they/she) is a white queer and asexual theatre creator\, producer and performer\, who works most often from the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam)\, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and səlil̓wətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) First Nations\, as well as from the traditional territories of the Mississaugas of the Credit\, the Anishnaabe\, the Chippewa\, the Haudenosaunee\, and the Wendat peoples (Tkarón:to/Toronto). \nKelsi has an honours degree in Musical Theatre Performance from Sheridan College\, and a certificate in ASL & Deaf Studies from VCC. Kelsi has composed for Driftwood Theatre\, Theatre Rusticle and Coquitlam Heritage\, and has been a Creative Producer at Dreamwalker Dance since 2021. \nThey have been a featured performer at Vancouver Pride (twice!)\, and they annually produce a micro-festival for asexual and asexual-spectrum folks (Art For Ace Week). Kelsi has developed queer-centered work through programs at Paprika\, Arts Club\, Tarragon\, Evergreen\, Rumble\, and the frank. Selected acting credits include Alice in Gertrude and Alice (United Players)\, Helena/Quince in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Driftwood)\, and Alex in Catfish (Alley Theatre/rEvolver). Kelsi is honoured to have had their work performed nationally and internationally\, in over 30 ‘Canadian’ cities\, as well as in China and the Philippines. Kelsi is passionate about new work and its capacity for tender\, human-to-human social change. She is the current Resident Curator at Up In The Air Theatre for rEvolver 2025 and 2026\, and runs a monthly community choir at Morrow.

Grab your picnic basket and enjoy a free professional concert in the park! \nThe Evergreen Cultural Centre Society is supported by Port Coquitlam Community Foundation Theatre Society Legacy Fund. \n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \nABOUT THE ARTISTS \n\nDominic Grimm is a singer/songwriter raised in BC’s Lower Mainland. Currently based out of Vancouver\, he uses his banjo and voice to reach people with his intimate lyrical writing. His music draws inspiration from Hozier\, The Amazing Devil\, and Pete Seeger\, with an alt-folk feel to much of his work. Dominic writes from his life and experiences as someone who grew up in the unique biome that is the Lower Mainland\, and as a trans person. His lyrics frequently talk about transformation and the natural world\, as well as how the expectations of others can’t change the true nature of things. \nDominic started his love of music at age six\, after his older brother had his first piano lesson. Dominic sat down at the piano and refused to move until he got a lesson as well. After years of exams with the Royal Conservatory of Music\, and graded performances at events like the Kwantlen Music Festival\, Dominic lost touch with what made him fall in love with music\, and discontinued lessons and performing in his early twenties. \nBut Dominic never stopped looking for that magic he felt when he first sat down at a piano. A magic he found again when he picked up a banjo for the first time six years ago. Dominic has since been composing and performing around Vancouver at street festivals\, in parks\, at open mics\, and wherever else he can find a place to share his music.

DESCRIPTION:Vancouver’s Clara Shandler performs under the moniker Sidewalk Cellist. She’s performed on three continents\, her music has been featured in films and has been performed by small ensembles and orchestras\, she’s collaborated with dancers\, poets and theatre productions to create memorable experiences\, and has released her fourth full-length album in September 2024. \n\n\n\n\nSounds like Joni Mitchell meets Yo Yo Ma meets Nirvana. \nClara is a dedicated educator\, committed to making music lessons fun by tailoring lessons to fit each individual student. She currently teaches cello\, piano\, and composition at the East Vancouver Community Music School and online through Music Arts School in Cambodia.

We have a family-friendly show with plenty of hot picking and fiddle tunes to entertain just about any audience. Seniors love the old time theme and harmony singing\, and even the kids are attracted to the staccato sounds of the banjo and fiddle. We play and sing in the old time radio show style\, and we’ll get their toes tapping and hands clapping… Guaranteed. It’s been wonderful to perform all across B.C.\, Alberta\, and Washington state over the years and the friends\, fans\, and relationships we have shared are priceless to us.
