SUMMARY:AUDITION NOTICE - 12 Incompetent Jurors
DESCRIPTION:AUDITION NOTICE – 12 Incompetent Jurors \nPlaywright: Ian McWethy\nDirector: Miles Lavkulich \nAudition Dates:\nSunday\, February 22 – 1:40 pm – 4:00 PM\nMonday\, February 23 – 7:20 pm – 9:00 PM\n* with call-backs by invitation on Wednesday\, February 25 – 7:20 pm – 9:00 PM \nAudition Venue:\nPinetree Community Centre Room 4\, 1260 Pinetree Way\, Coquitlam (near the Lafarge Lake/Douglas SkyTrain station) \nProduction Dates:\nApril 30-May 3 and May 6-9\, 2026 (Wednesday-Saturday at 7:30 PM\, Sunday at 3 PM). Please note that theatre load in and tech rehearsal for this show is Sunday\, April 26\, 2026\, with technical and dress rehearsals on April 27 and 28\, 2026. \nNOTE: this production is Stage 43’s entry into the Theatre BC Fraser Valley Zone Festival in White Rock in May. Therefore\, there will be at least one more performance during the week of May 17-22\, 2026. If the show is chosen as Best Production at the zone festival\, it will go on to compete in the Theatre BC Mainstage Festival in Vernon\, July 4-11\, 2026. \nProduction Venue:\nEvergreen Cultural Centre\, 1205 Pinetree Way\, Coquitlam \nThe Play:\nWhen a man is accused of abducting half a dozen cats\, it’s a simple open-and-shut case\, even for a jury that’s filled with oddballs like a dim-witted PR guy\, a bickering couple\, and a person obsessed with french fries. After all\, every scrap of evidence indicts the accused. And yet\, Juror #8\, a wannabe lawyer\, believes that the “Cat Burglar” is innocent. Will he be able to sway the other jury members? Or will they side with Juror #3\, the only sane one in the room? A hilarious parody of 12 Angry Men. \nCasting Requirements – 12 actors\n*Note: the ages of the characters are flexible and casting will be based on chemistry between actors. Stage 43 welcomes diversity in casting and actors of all backgrounds\, identities\, and abilities are encouraged to audition! \nFOREMAN – Overly eager to please\, energetic. Takes improv classes at the Y but has only one character\, “a kooky Cockney lady” they randomly insert into conversation. \nJUROR #2 – Nervous\, prone to anxiety attacks. Terrible at making arguments or standing up for oneself. \nJUROR #3 – A sensible person. \nJUROR #4 – A bratty young person. Always texting. Rude\, inconsiderate\, easily annoyed. \nJUROR #5 and #6– A bickering couple. Loud\, argumentative\, but gosh darn it if they don’t love each other. \nJUROR #7 – Sweet but lonely. Unemployed and live with their grandmother. Thinks they’ve found a friend in the prosecutor. \nJUROR #8 – Believes they should have been a lawyer. Persuasive and self-righteous. \nJUROR #9 – Creepy guy. Eats fries all the time. Keeps to himself mostly. \nJUROR #10 – Angry at almost everyone. Definite rage issues. Probably should be medicated. \nJUROR #11 – Works in PR. A fast-talker\, though not much of an intellect. \nJUROR #12 – An immigrant from somewhere in Eastern Europe. Has trouble expressing ideas and understanding others. \nVoice Characters \nJUDGE – Stern\, serious\, an authority figure. \nDONALD PLEATS – The defendant. In the audio we hear that he is clearly nuts. And guilty…. So guilty. \nBRAD – A normally mild-mannered husband. \nSHELLEY – A normally mild-mannered wife. \nNotes:\n• Audition will be cold readings provided by the director; in addition\, please prepare a 1-2 minute monologue (monologue does not need to be delivered from memory!); bonus points if you can tell a joke that makes the director laugh\n• Book an audition time through the scheduling app by clicking here https://calendly.com/stag…/auditions-12-incompetent-jurors. Please arrive 10-15 minutes before your scheduled audition time to fill in the audition application and review audition sides. If you find yourself unable to keep your booked audition time\, please be respectful of others and release your scheduled time through the app.\n• Please bring an acting résumé and head shot if you have one or email it to us at info@stage43.org. Also\, bring a list of dates that you are not available for rehearsals (these will be used to respect everyone’s time and schedule meaningful rehearsals).\n• This is a non-Equity production; everyone involved in this production does so on a voluntary basis.\n• Successful auditionees will be required to become members of Stage 43 Theatrical Society at the first rehearsal ($20.00 adult / $16 seniors annual membership fee). Since this show is a festival entry\, cast and crew must obtain individual Theatre BC Membership ($28 per year) before April 30\, 2026.\n• Rehearsals take place on Monday and Wednesday evenings (7 PM to 9:30 PM) and Sunday afternoons (1:30 PM to 4:30 PM) beginning March 1\, 2026. \nStage 43 is an inclusive group. Everyone is welcome to audition for any role they see themselves in. Come out and play with us!

SUMMARY:Where Have All The Buffalo Gone?
DESCRIPTION:WHERE HAVE ALL THE BUFFALO GONE?\nPresented by Axis Theatre\nWritten by Tai Amy Grauman\n\nABOUT THE SHOW  \nA Métis love-story that transcends time to safeguard history\, Where Have All The Buffalo Gone? is a love story through the ages. Two star people and a Buffalo\, fall to earth and continue to reconnect throughout history. Our play covers seven different periods of Métis history. We bear witness to the emergence of the Métis nations across the plains\, the robust colonization that arises from the fur trade\, the disappearance of the buffalo and the political uprising of the Métis Association of Alberta. The story begins during creation amongst the stars and ends in the present day. \nWhere Have All The Buffalo Gone? specifically shares scenarios from the Callihoo family’s stories\, incorporating fiddle music\, jigging and a life-like buffalo puppet. Inspired by historical events of the Métis people of Canada\, this original play for young audiences explores the loves\, the losses and the fight of Treaty 6’s Métis people – and their love and kinship to the buffalo. \n\n\n\n\nSINGLE TICKETS ON SALE JULY 01!\nAll tickets just $15\, pay-more-if-you-can! \nBOX OFFICE: 604.927.6555 | Open Monday – Saturday\, 12 – 5PM
