SUMMARY:Public Art Calls | City of Port Moody: Deadline
DESCRIPTION:Public Art Calls\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“Public art helps to make Port Moody aesthetically pleasing and interesting. It builds our community by enhancing quality of life\, contributing to economic development and helps us to celebrate our rich history. It brings art to life for our citizens in many everyday settings. Public art shows Port Moody’s commitment to local artists and provides residents with access to art from British Columbia\, Canada\, and around the world.” Port Moody Official Community Plan\, Chapter 10 \nNew Public Art Call\nInlet Park Community Fieldhouse\nIntegrated Mosaic Tile Artwork Design\nThe City of Port Moody invites Expressions of Interest (EOI) from professional artists residing in British Columbia and eligible to work in Canada to create an integrated mosaic tile artwork design for the new Inlet Park Community Fieldhouse\, located at 3024 Murray Street\, Port Moody\, BC. \nTheme\nArtist Opportunity\nShortlisted artists will be invited to propose a unique mosaic tile design to be integrated into walls in the eastern stairwell of the fieldhouse. The tiles will be square or rectangular glass mosaic tiles. More information regarding the type\, size\, and colour options for the mosaic tiles will be provided to shortlisted artists during the second stage of the selection process. \nAn artist honorarium of $1\,500 will be provided to each shortlisted artist to further develop their concept proposal. \nThe commissioned artist will create and submit a final digital artwork file and will work with City staff and City contractors to support the implementation of the approved design within the stairwell. \n\nThemes\nArtists are encouraged to explore any aspect of the overarching theme:\nInlet Park: A Community Space for Connection\, Play\, and Growth. \nThe artwork should be colourful\, playful and joyful.  While allowing for artistic expression\, the successful artist must consider the viewer’s experience both up close in the stairwell and hallway and from the sidewalk outside\, looking in. \nConcepts to consider: \nConnection\nConnection highlights the relationships formed in shared spaces—among community\, art\, culture\, heritage\, and the natural environment. The mosaic may reflect the places and experiences that bring people together to connect and thrive. \nPlay\nPlay celebrates curiosity\, imagination\, and joyful interaction across all ages. Through movement\, colour\, and pattern\, the artwork can evoke exploration and invite meaningful\, lighthearted engagement. \nGrowth\nGrowth represents change over time. The artwork may symbolize resilience and the ongoing evolution of the park as a place where people and nature develop together. \nProcess overview\n\nCall for qualifications: Artists interested in this opportunity should carefully review the guidelines outlined in this call for qualifications. Ensure you understand all requirements\, deadlines\, and specific criteria related to the application.\nSelection jury review: A selection jury will assess the submitted qualifications and shortlist up to three artists or artist teams.\nDesign presentation: The shortlisted artists or teams will be invited to present their Detailed Concept Proposal.\nFinal selection: The jury will select the final artist and design to proceed with the project.\n\nTo apply\, submit your qualifications and required materials as a single PDF document (10MB) by the deadline. Label your PDF with your name or team name and email it to communityartscoordinator@portmoody.ca with the subject line “Inlet Park Community Fieldhouse – (your name.)’ All submissions must be received by 11:59pm on Sunday May 3\, 2026. Good luck\, and we look forward to seeing your ideas come to life!

DESCRIPTION:Coquitlam Public Library will have the Juried Art Exhibit from Sunday\, September 27 to Sunday\, November 16\, 2026. We are excited to let you know that we ‘ve started the Call for Entries and are now accepting applications for the Library Juried Art Exhibit and the submission deadline is May 31\, 11:59 pm. \nArtists from the Tri-Cities area\, including Coquitlam\, Port Moody\, Port Coquitlam\, and Belcarra\, are invited to submit their best 2-dimensional artworks in the \nmediums of paintings\, drawings\, photographs\, collage\, and prints. \nThis year’s theme is “In Motion”. How does your work explore the idea of being in motion? What do you think of when you hear the words ‘In Motion’? \nThere are two age categories: Youth (13 – 18) and Adult (19+). Selected works will be displayed from Sunday\, September 27 – Sunday\, Nov. 16\, 2026 at the Poirier Branch\, providing artists with a unique opportunity to showcase their talent and gain recognition within the local community. \nArtworks applied will be adjudicated and selected by the juror team.
