ArtsConnect’s ArtsCalendar is a work in progress. Presently, we are working with a small group of arts organizations from across the Tri-Cities to develop the ArtsCalendar before we open up submissions from all arts organizations and we are not accepting direct submissions at this time. If your organization is interested in joining the ArtsCalendar in the future, please email your name, address, and a brief description of your organization to: [email protected]

This resource has been made possible through the financial support of ArtsConnect’s members. If you would like to support the further development, please consider becoming a member here: Membership

Quintessential Folk Singers

They write and find songs that perfectly describe the human experience, the human condition, the stories we love to hear and the stories we need to hear. Yes, the songs are usually about all of us, not the elites or sadly, the ‘newsworthy’. We see who we are through these songs that resonate deep within us.

At 7:30pm โ€” Kray Van Kirk
Heโ€™s not your average crying-in-your-coffee singer-songwriter. โ€œWe are driven by myth and the seasons of the heart,โ€ he says. โ€œScience comes later. We need new stories and new myths for a very complex 21st century so that everyone, absolutely everyone, regardless of creed, colour, gender, sexuality or anything else, can listen and look and see themselves on the Heroโ€™s Quest.โ€ Of this charming, Quixotic, and decidedly eclectic performer, the Borderline Folk Club in New York wrote โ€œit is what every singer-songwriter should aspire to.โ€ https://krayvankirk.com/

At 8:50 pm โ€”
Steve Somers and the Kings County Line
Just a good olโ€™ boy, never meaninโ€™ no harm. His songs are full of real-life characters, heartbreak, hilarity, and humanity. Very often the songs are introduced with the real life story from where it came. Steve Somers is an award winning songwriter, singer, and multi-instrumentalist. Originally from Prince Edward Island, you can feel the east coast music vibes in all his tunes. He’s been at Crossroads a few times โ€“ last year it was a full house crowd for this very enjoyable story-teller with the Kings County Line. https://www.stevesomersmusic.ca/
