SUMMARY:Art Out Side: Moody By Nature Mural
DESCRIPTION:Moody by Nature” is a mural concept that captures the unique dual identity of Port Moody — a city that’s as dynamic and stylish as it is rooted in natural beauty. The phrase itself becomes the central visual element of the mural\, with “Moody” and “by Nature” each representing a contrasting yet harmonious aspect of the community. \n‍ \nHappening throughout the festival – check back for progress and watch the artists while they work. Keep your eyes open for the community call where you can make your mark on the wall!

SUMMARY:Open Air Performance Series: Ricardo
DESCRIPTION:RICARDO\nOpen Air Performance Series\n\n\n\n\n\nFrom July 7th – August 29th\, 2025 join us for a free\, 1-hour performance every Monday to Friday at 6PM as part of our Open Air Performance Series. By expanding our arts experiences into Town Centre Park\, we hope these events will excite our patrons and introduce us to new faces and Lake Lafarge lovers alike. Grab your picnic basket and enjoy a free professional concert in the park! \nThe Evergreen Cultural Centre Society is supported by Port Coquitlam Community Foundation Theatre Society Legacy Fund. \n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \nABOUT THE ARTISTS \n\nRicardo is an artist\, composer\, and music producer based in Vancouver\, BC. Born in Mozambique a few years after the civil war\, Ricardo immigrated to Canada with his mother when he was just 5-years old. His music is an honest reflection of his journey\, blending personal storytelling with boundary-pushing sounds\, challenging the conventions of radio pop by weaving in layers of hip-hop\, Afrobeat\, Gospel\, and R&B. Ricardo’s music comes from the perspective of a story teller. One who weaves the personal and the Universal. Ricardo’s main stories that he writes about have to deal with trauma; both relationally\, familial\, and generational trauma. Ricardo believes music is the medium for not only healing\, but for communicating beyond what we normally do with language. From intimate Sofarsounds shows to festival main stages\, his music invites you to join him on an unpredictable\, unforgettable ride. Ricardo’s concerts are more than just a set—they’re an experience.

SUMMARY:Open Air Performance Series: Kele Fleming & Matthew Presidente
DESCRIPTION:KELE FLEMING & MATTHEW PRESIDENTE\n\nOpen Air Performance Series\n\n\n\n\n\nFrom July 7th – August 29th\, 2025 join us for a free\, 1-hour performance every Monday to Friday at 6PM as part of our Open Air Performance Series. Grab your picnic basket and enjoy a free professional concert in the park! \nThe Evergreen Cultural Centre Society is supported by Port Coquitlam Community Foundation Theatre Society Legacy Fund. \n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \nABOUT THE ARTISTS \n\nKELE FLEMING | Kele Fleming the distinct love child of Linda Perhacs and Ani DiFranco. She’s 70’s psychedelic\, feministic\, intelligent- quoting Darwin and Foucault mid song. Kele Charted at #1 on the New Queer Canada Music Charts\, and is a proud member of the LGBTQ2A community\, and her presence in today’s music scene is an important reminder that it needs to continue to be more diverse and inclusive. \nKele’s dynamic vocals range from choir girl naivete to raging Sinead O’Connor. Profound lyrics that are more like call to actions\, angry at humanity’s sad state of affairs. These are potent and important protest songs that rage against our indifference and apathy.\nPerfect for discerning and open-minded crowds\, who have taste for authenticity and a pallet for the truth. This is peer to peer with music that lives in the likes of the Numero Group catalog.\nFor the Gen Z’s among us Kele’s music has accumulated over 500K listens on Spotify\, her edgy single ‘The Great Acceleration – Devours Remix’ alone\, reaching a staggering 114K. \nMATTHEW PRESIDENTE | Vancouver’s piano man\, Matthew Presidente is an innovative rock/pop songwriter whose dynamic performances light up the stage whether he’s solo or backed by his full band. With his signature piano driven sound and high-energy delivery\, Matthew forges a powerful connection with audiences through emotionally charged\, interactive\, and unforgettable live shows. \nDescribed by Xtra Magazine as “one of—if not—the best singer/songwriters in our LGBT scene\,” Matthew made a bold leap in 2022\, leaving his full-time career to chase music full-time. Since then\, he’s been on a roll— hitting the studio with his band\, releasing new music\, earning a Creative BC Career Development grant\, and touring extensively across British Columbia. In 2024 alone\, he played over 100 shows\, lighting up iconic venues like The Fox\, The Rickshaw\, Guilt & Co\, The Shipyards\, and The Hollywood Theatre. He has also earned enthusiastic recognition on Pride stages throughout BC and Alberta. \nMost recently\, Matthew’s theatrical flair shone in Pretty Package Piano Bar\, a musical he co-wrote and performed at the 2022 Kelowna Fringe alongside drag stars Toddy and Ella Lamaroux. He followed it up with a ten-city BC tour\, including Peak Pride weekends\, spreading queer joy and advocacy everywhere he went. He’s also hit the road several times with Vancouver Island’s Kele Fleming and opened for Canadian rock legend Bif Naked. Teaming up with producer Matt Roach (RainCity Recorders)\, Matthew dropped his highly anticipated full-length album Chosen Sun in January 2025. Bursting with themes of transformation\, queer resilience\, and personal empowerment\, the album features standout singles “Rainbow Tree” and “The Rhythm”—earning over 100k streams across platforms in its first month

SUMMARY:Art Out Side: Remembering Our Roots
DESCRIPTION:ARTIST: Pierre Leichner \n“Although we live in a period of great wealth\, there continues to exist poverty and hunger; although we are increasingly aware of our environment\, we continue to damage it incredibly; and although we have made great strides in understanding human diseases\, we struggle to provide person centered care and promote health. There is now evidence that participation in the arts promotes health and well being in individuals and their community. \nI describe myself as an interdisciplinary research artist. I am a full-time artist 2011. \nI work on two intertwined tracts: a socially/politically engaged one and one of personal inquiry. I believe art has lost its place to science\, business\, and entertainment as a way of knowing. Most of my research focuses on our environment\, and mental health. I use various mediums as needed to explore an issue. \nI am a member of Connection Salon\, on the board of the Community Arts Council of Vancouver. I am the founding artistic director of the Vancouver Outsider Arts Festival now in its 8th year. \nI work on two intertwined tracts: a socially/politically engaged one and one of personal inquiry. SUMMARY:Cocktail Concerts: Queer As Funk!
DESCRIPTION:COCKTAIL CONCERTS: QUEER AS FUNK!\nCocktail Hour 6:30PM | Concert 7:30PM\nNot your typical dance band\, Queer As Funk are part-advocates\, part-funk-revivalists\, and have been turning stages into dance floors and audiences into family for over a decade. As one of the few predominantly queer bands in Canada\, they offer more than just a great night out: at their core\, Queer As Funk uses music as a tool for visibility\, pride\, and the radical celebration of the queer experience. \nBorn from a desire to bring vibrant funk and soul to Vancouver’s queer community\, Queer As Funk is dedicated to gathering and taking up space—especially in smaller or more isolated areas. The band has become a beacon in the 2SLGBTQI+ community\, putting on high-energy live shows where diversity is celebrated and all are welcome. \nQueer As Funk has played stages across Canada\, including six sold-out headlining shows at Vancouver’s legendary Commodore Ballroom—a venue that has hosted legends like Tina Turner and David Bowie. In recognition of their impact\, they’ve even been ordained as saints by the worldwide ‘Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence’\, for “creating positive changes in our world by honoring the Mind\, Body\, and Spirit.” The group’s individual members are consummate musicians in their own right\, having collectively performed with artists like Serena Ryder\, Tegan and Sara\, Dan Mangan\, and Ken Boothe. \nBringing fresh takes to beloved classics in funk\, soul\, and Motown\, Queer As Funk’s powerful vocals\, tight horn arrangements\, and irresistible rhythm section make each performance as groovy as it is fun. Their arrangements are creative\, their vibe is pure celebration\, and their love for each other is palpable\, adding depth to the onstage dynamic that models the concept of chosen family.” \n\nALL TICKETS JUST $55! | Includes 1 Cocktail or Mocktail\nBOX OFFICE: 604.927.6555
