Join Port Moody’s Angie Quintanilla Coates to create a vibrant community mural that reflects the spirit of Evergreen Arts and the Tri-Cities. Bring your enthusiasm for painting and collaborate with the artist as she leads the co-creation of this mural. Coates is a featured artist in our Public Art Program celebrating our 30th anniversary where works by artists from the Tri-Cities are featured in installations around Evergreen Arts.
Coates’s artworks share her spirit of persistent joyfulness that comes from her Mexican culture. Her colours and geometric forms celebrate a bold optimism and dynamic investigation of form. Coates is a visual artist born and raised in Monterrey, Mexico. She lives and works in Port Moody, bringing her vibrant view on art and life to the Tri-Cities. Coates’s work is deeply influenced by her cultural heritage and personal journey. Her approach to colour and design nods to her Mexican roots, and she sees her practice as an invitation for anyone who needs it to get a dose of what she likes to call dopamina mexicana.
