MEET YOUR HOST
Cyd Eva is a queer visual artist, fashion designer, Art Teacher, podcast host, dancer, installation artist and surface pattern designer from Coquitlam so-called BC Canada. She has a BFA in visual art from Simon Fraser university, a degree in Fashion Design from Cape town college of fashion design and is a graduate of surface design immersion with bonnie christine, bravely business incubator for creative entrepreneurs and Durban university of technology’s pattern drafting program.
She is the founder of the brand and designs original art for pattern nation, sews and creates many of our products and is the inventor of our blobs: interactive play sculptures. She is passionate about creativity, community, self expression, colour and pattern and deeply values the time she has spent in Canada, South Africa and England building the Pattern Nation brand through events, collaborations and teaching. Cyd is currently teaching visual art and fashion design at Place Des Arts and the Evergreen Cultural Centre in Coquitlam and offers programs for youth and adults.
